The self catering Birdhouse bothy in Applecross, Scottish Highlands offers intimate, luxury accommodation overlooking the Cuillin Mountains of Skye…
We warmly welcome you to The Birdhouse, beautiful self-catering accommodation in Applecross close to the North Coast 500. A peaceful, intimate hideaway that is perfect for up to two people looking for a magical getaway. Inviting you to shrug off the stresses of everyday life, leaving the body to rest and the mind to unwind.
The Birdhouse is perched at the top of the garden behind Shell Cottage in the quiet hamlet of Culduie in Applecross. Culduie is perhaps most famous for the setting of the Man Booker Prize short-listed book ‘His Bloody Project’ written by Graeme MacRae Burnet.
Nestled at the foot of an ancient Scots Pine in the hamlet of Culduie, guests at the Birdhouse can expect a king size bed, beautiful shower room, wood burning stove and an abundance of unique creative charm.
Originally an old cow byre, The Birdhouse was lovingly restored and refurbished in 2019 to an exceptional standard. This wonderful bothy is brimming with creativity and craftsmanship. Enjoying west-facing views over the Cuillin Mountains of Skye and the Inner Sound sea, the Birdhouse is light and airy with a special feel. The wood burning stove and overarching canopy of rowan branches over the head of the bed create a cosy, fairytale nest at any time of year.
